Don’t miss the opportunity to get a introduction on the growing threat of (online) identity theft!

— Speaker 4: Kostis Konstantoudakis (Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH)) – Identity theft: quick scan of concepts  —

📑 This will be an introduction to the concept of Identity Theft – situations in which the identity of a victim is controlled by someone else without the victim’s consent. This can include a fraudster posing as the victim, contacting the victim’s family or colleagues, and gaining access to the victim’s personal information or assets. In recent years, as so much of our personal and professional activities are done, at least in part, online, Online Identity Theft has become both more common and more dangerous. It can include the control of the victim’s social media presence, fake videos or audio spread online, e-banking frauds, and more.
