📑 This will be an introduction to the concept of Identity Theft – situations in which the identity of a victim is controlled by someone else without the victim’s consent. This can include a fraudster posing as the victim, contacting the victim’s family or colleagues, and gaining access to the victim’s personal information or assets. In recent years, as so much of our personal and professional activities are done, at least in part, online, Online Identity Theft has become both more common and more dangerous. It can include the control of the victim’s social media presence, fake videos or audio spread online, e-banking frauds, and more.
👨💼 Dr. Kostis Konstantoudakis is an Electrical and Computer Engineer. He holds an MSc in Digital Image Processing and a PhD in image super-resolution. His main research interests include image and video processing, compression and encoding, gesture recognition, human-machine interfaces, as well as AI-based approaches to the above. Since 2018 he has been part of the Visual Computing Lab of Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), in Greece, working on five EU projects. He is currently deputy Project Coordinator of EITHOS EU Project.
