The EITHOS project had the pleasure of being selected to participate in Europe Day 2024 on 4 May and to run a stand in the Berlaymont building of the European Commission, at the “Strengthening our Democracy” Village.
This was an opportunity to prepare quizzes for children and adults on cybersecurity and the techniques used to steal people’s identities, and how to protect oneself or at least reduce the risk. The deepfake creation tool was a great success and showed how easily someone’s image could be altered.
Over and above the laughter and smiles of the visitors, it was a beneficial demonstration of the dangers that exist and the means provided by the project to improve the awareness and the protection of the public.
