EITHOS project in NCP Flanders Horizon Testimonial
Thanks to our partnership with the Cyber and Data Security Lab of VUB university, EITHOS has been spotlighted between the Horizon testimonials by NCP Flanders. A service born by the cooperation between Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship Agency (VLAIO) and Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and which provides information and advice to all stakeholders located in Flanders (enterprises, institutes, non-profit-organizations, universities, university colleges,) and to all Flemish public institutions located anywhere in Belgium.
The EITHOS project aims to develop a “European Identity Theft Observatory System” (EITHOS). The system will provide easy access to information and intelligence about previous and current identity theft related trends to empower EU citizens, Law Enforcements Agencies (LEAs), and policy makers to further contribute to the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes related to online identity theft.
The Cyber and Data Security Lab is a renowned research group within the Law, Science, Technology, and Society department at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). The lab is one of 12 partners in the EITHOS project, their work focuses on designing a new paradigm in the field of information security, embedding legal and ethical considerations as integral components of the process. This ensures technological progress without undermining fundamental rights. A mission and a vision that resonate with the EITHOS Observatory, which is committed to raising awareness about identity theft among citizens and helping to law enforcement agencies to develop tools to detect emerging digital threats.
